Plimmerton Boating Club celebrates its centenary on the weekend of 4-6 April 2025. During this weekend there will be a number of social and on water events to mark the occasion. Secure your place by completing and returning the registration form here. There are limited numbers for some of the social events due to the capacity of the clubrooms. Tickets will be allocated on the time of entry (and payment) so register early to avoid disappointment.
So what’s on?
Friday 4th April 6.30pm
Pick up your registration packs, catch up with old friends and plan your weekend. The bar will be open from 6pm to midnight. Tickets are $25pp and include nibbles and a free glass of bubbly on arrival.
Saturday 5th April
7.00am - 11.00am - Three fish competition First back to the clubhouse with a legal tarakihi, snapper and kahawai. Prizegiving at 11.30.
12.00pm - 3.30pm Official Opening and Centenary Lunch
A formal welcome, speeches and a three course lunch. Numbers are limited to 100 and tickets are $40pp. The Bar will be open from 11.30.
6.30pm till late - Centenary Party
A good old fashioned Plimmerton Boating Club party with live entertainment. Finger food will be provided during the evening. $25pp. Numbers are limited to 200.
Sunday 6th April
A selection of classic yachts will be on display throughout the day.
9.00am - Sniffers Boat Race
A short rowing race from the clubhouse.
10.00am - The Morning After Brunch
Traditional breakfast fare $15pp.
11.00 am - 1.00 pm Sailing Races
Some fun, but no doubt competitive, sailing races to celebrate the proud history of sailing at our club. Followed by prize giving at 1.30. The Bar will open at 2.00pm.
2.00pm - 5.00pm Club Open Day
The Club opens its doors to the community to come and experience what our wonderful Club has to offer.
Memorabilia
There will be some special memorabilia to mark the Club’s centenary. These include the Centenary Book, Polo Shirt and Cap with embroidered centenary logo and the Sterling Silver Centenary Pin.
Accommodation
There are a few local options available including Moana Lodge and various airbnb places. Hongoeka Marae have also kindly offered to accommodate self-contained camper vans. Space is limited so please indicate on your registration form whether you would like to stay at Hongoeka.
